Senior Clinical Research Coordinator - Community Psychiatry

Overview

Reporting to the director of the Community Psychiatry Program for Research in Implementation and Dissemination of Evidence-Based Treatments (Community Psychiatry PRIDE) at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the program coordinator will oversee the center s portfolio of implementation and dissemination projects. The program coordinator will be responsible for supervising lab personnel, administrative activities, and grant submissions. The person filling this role will work in conjunction with the research leadership team, which includes the director and the postdoctoral fellow, to further develop research proposals and implement community research projects. This is a position ideal for an individual interested in pursuing a career in research administration or long-term program management for a wide range of clinical trials.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic and Financial Planning

-Play a key role during program design, planning, and implementation to ensure consistency with the center s mission and goals.

-Delivers timely and meaningful reports and updates to the leadership team, and keeps appropriate staff informed of development issues and opportunities.

-Utilizes project management fundamentals to implement major priorities and ensure all projects comply with Partners Healthcare and MGH policy and procedure.

-Oversees and manages annual budgets, including developing, revising, and reporting on budgets.

-Develops a comprehensive set of personnel performance metrics and regularly reports on key performance indicators in order to standardize the measurement of Community Psychiatry PRIDE s internal and external activity.

Research

-Assists principal investigators in identifying key research objectives, milestones and hurdles limiting the success of the portfolio. Ensure achievement of milestones on time and within budget.

-Develops and maintains partnerships with community collaborators and research teams and serve as a liaison between these groups and principal investigators.

-Assists with the development of Community Psychiatry PRIDE s research program alongside the research leadership team.

-Manages all research budgets

-Prepares, submits, and monitors IRB proposals

-Oversees and manages workflow of the lab

External Relations

-Develops and supervise the editing, production and publication of all newsletters, magazines, and other public documents.

-Oversees Community Psychiatry PRIDE s website and ensures that it promotes current and accurate information.

-Manages the marketing and communications budget and tracks expenditures, ensuring the most effective use of resources.

-Liaises with Department of Psychiatry administrators, and other MGH and Partners departments, as necessary.

Fundraising and Donor Relations

-Develops and oversees all marketing, communications, branding, and PR activities for Community Psychiatry PRIDE to support the organization s varied stakeholders: funders, MGH collaborators, and external partners. This includes developing a detailed project plan, creating promotional materials, targeting specific audiences, and tracking the outcome of the various efforts.

-Writes and manages grant applications and assists in the cultivation of individual donors.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree required in health or business-related field. 3-5 years of research and administrative experience required. Spanish-speaking applicants preferred. Masters preferred.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required

-Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively

-Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise staff.

-Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of research and administrative software such as InfoED, Taleo, Peoplesoft, RedCap, SPSS, SAS, etc. In addition to individuals with familiarity to national grant submission processes such as NIH and PCORI grants.

-Excellent communication skills both orally and written to provide the appropriate level of advocacy for funds and grant applications.

-Ability to proactively identify issues/projects and initiate plans to address them.

-Demonstrated forthrightness and integrity. Ability to develop a common vision for diverse constituents, communicates effectively, and takes ownership and responsibility for activities.

-Superior relationship-building skills.

-Superior project management and budgeting skills.

-Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

-Ability to work with diverse study populations

-Knowledge of data collection standards, entry, and maintenance of study documentation

-Knowledge of regulatory IRB procedures

-Proficient in SPSS, SAS, and/or R

-Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently

-Ability to explain technical concepts to varying levels of research staff

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
